Alpex
Carbon Dioxide Extinguishers
provide an efficient Fire Extinguishing Medium and offer many benefits
to customers. CO2 is colourless, odourless
and heavier than air. CO2
as a medium smothers flames and reduces the temperature
and oxygen content of air around the fire, thus ensuring extinction.
CO2 is non-conductive and
it is particularly ffective against fires in energized electrical
plant and equipment as well as fires of Class “B” and Class
“C” Category. CO2 is
non-toxic, although normal venting procedures should be
observed, leaves no contamination or corrosive
residue, does not deteriorate or freeze in the cylinder.
CO2
provides fast knockdown
of industrial fires where dangerous chemical and
gases are involved.
The
Alpex range offers a choice of sizes from 2Kg. to 5Kg.
in Steel bodies, together with a choice of Swivel
Horn or Hose & Horn applicators. The range truly
offers the customers a model to suit their needs.
Operating
instructions
Pull out the Safety Pin, grasp
the Spray Horn and press the Handle / turn the Wheel to left,
aiming at the inflaming base to discharge.
Pay attention to wind direction in putting out a fire.
It must be in the way of tail wind.
NOTES
FOR ATTENTION
Ambient
temperature -100 to 67.50C. Check the extinguisher
weight at least annually. If the annual leakage
exceeds 5% of the original weight, find out the cause and
replenish CO2 to full capacity by the supplier.
The cylinder is to be subject to hydraulic pressure test
by the supplier regularly without any leakage or distortion,
and it can be continued to use after qualified checking only.
